We graduated from festivals to pub gigs on Burns Nicht, sharing a stage at The New Deal Cafe in Greenbelt, MD, with the Homespun Ceilidh Band to celebrate the poet's birthday. We launched the evening, Homespun came on for a fun set (I started an an dro line for as long as it lasted). When they finished, I asked Trix up to join me for Auld Lang Syne (to the original tune), and The Devil's Tailors were up again for an even more rousing set.
Poor Jim, he plays in both bands and didn't get a break at all - on top of that, he plays solo lute there on Sunday mornings.
We want to offer our sincerest thanks to our new friends at The New Deal Cafe, and we hope to see you all again soon!
